This week begins a special month for the pro-life movement.
I still remember the moment in June 2022 when we received the news that the nearly 50-year-abortion-reign-of-terror under Roe v. Wade had ended. I was emceeing the Pro-Life Women’s Conference when the headline hit, and I will never forget the explosion of joy when we announced this incredible victory from the stage.
The next year, a new tradition began: gathering in our nation’s capital to CELEBRATE LIFE on the anniversary of Roe’s reversal.
Now three years later, the abortion landscape is hardly recognizable with 17 states having banned most or all abortions, while other states have liberalized their abortion access, some even enshrining a so-called “right to abortion” in their state constitutions. And the abortion industry has employed an aggressive marketing machine that is pushing vulnerable women into abortion-destination states and dangerous abortion drugs across the country. As a result, abortion numbers have now surged to over a million a year.
Despite this tough report, HOPE is on the horizon. We will be returning to Washington D.C. in a few short weeks for the annual National Celebrate Life Weekend with new and BIGGER goals in our sights to save lives and end abortion, community by community — and among those is defunding Planned Parenthood.
On Saturday, June 28, we will lead the call for Congress to finally defund the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, which reported performing over 400,000 abortions last year, while receiving over $792 million in taxpayer funds.
For the first time, we have a real opportunity to hit the abortion industry where it hurts: its BOTTOM LINE!
After numerous reports of malfeasance, not to mention the millions of children killed and women harmed by Planned Parenthood, a government built on the promise to protect life can no longer fund this atrocity. And what better time to call Congress to action and highlight the many amazing pregnancy-help organizations ready to step into the gap for moms and families in need, than the anniversary of the reversal of Roe v. Wade.
